The first 1,000 copies pressed of the Teenage Enema Nurses in Bondage EP (which can be identified by its lipstick-red font, vs later pressings which had hot-pink lettering), were sequentially numbered and personally hand-assembled by the band, and included individual notes indicating which member had packed each disc. Accordingly, these are now very valuable and hard to find.
Our song Teenage Enema Nurses became a radio drive-time favorite during the summer of 1982, rising to (appropriately!) #2 on the KROQ playlist by August just behind I Ran (So Far Away) by Flock of Seagulls.
Killer Pussy members were interviewed on KROQ on a regular basis during that time, due to the popularity of three of our hit songs being played: Besides Enema Nurses, listeners also enjoyed frequent airings of Pepperoni Ice Cream and Pocket Pool. Several of the bands posters were prominently featured on the radio station set of the national network TV show Square Pegs, starring a young Sarah Jessica Parker.
Actor/painter Dennis Hopper did a mixed-media triptych called Killer Pussy, incorporating a band poster that featured Lucy wearing her nurses costume in the classic Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman pose. This work was included in a Dennis Hopper retrospective at the MoCA in Los Angeles, and it can be seen in Hoppers book A System of Moments. Says Lucy, I was excited and proud to be able to see the painting and get my picture taken next to it when it was on display at the MoCA
